Nicollet Sunset

Canadian fires hung over the great midwest skies for weeks during the summer of 2015. The particles from the fire contributed to already amazing South Dakota sunsets. This sunset photo was taken from the top of Nicollet Tower, looking northwest towards the Coteau des Prairies. There is nothing like a mother's garden. Every plant is individually cared for and nurtured to ensure it grows and flourishes in it's environment. Each flower is treated with love and tenderness, with kindness and compassion. Thank You mom for your love, your kindness, and allowing me to grow and to blossom.

I Choose You!

It was so much fun to watch these Eared Grebes. There were 3 grebes, 2 males, and a female. They chased each other around for quite a while. When the "dust" finally settled, this was the matching pair. It appears that they like each other.

Western Grebe Teamwork

The grebe parents work tirelessly to provide for their chicks. One parent carries their chicks on it's back, while the other parent searches for food.
