This is an absolutely magical experience! Vestrahorn is on the south west coast of Iceland. This mountain cascades into the North Atlantic Ocean. At high tide the ocean's waters surround the southern side of this mountain range. Palmer Lake Star
The Palmer Lake Star has been part of the town's history since 1935. The star's story goes back to the depression era. It was built to "inspire hope and prosperity" to weary travelers. Today I think it still achieves this lofty goal.

Aurora Night Sky
There is nothing quite like the Aurora Borealis. It is simply amazing to watch the ribbons of light as they gracefully dance across the sky. The snow covered mountain is a different view of Vestrahorn Mountain. It is one of the many photogenic destinations on the south eastern coast of Iceland.

Rocky Mountain Milky Way
Rock Cut along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park makes a beautiful foreground for the Milky Way. This night was very cloudy and foggy, and was certainly a test of patience and perseverance. There was a break in the clouds and fog for a very short while and this beautiful scene appeared before me.
